10/20 Window

There are 12 countries in Southeast Asia:

Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines,

Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam.

The 10/20 Window is in Southeast Asia. Located between the 20th degree of latitude north and the 10th degree of latitude south of the equator.

The population in southeast Asia in 2018 is estimated at 655 million with an population of 332 million that are still waiting to know Jesus.

A Window of Harvest

The reasoning for the 10/20 Window is based on Matthew 24:14, that the gospel is to reach the whole world and then the end will come. Since the gospel has gone out to Africa and the Middle East, those areas are not included. On the other hand, the island of New Guinea has more uncontacted tribes than any other region in the world. The 10/20 Window focuses on the area where the gospel still needs to reach and where the harvest is still plentiful (Matthew 9:37).

Matthew 24:14

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

The Challenge

As the end times draws near and is soon upon us, the church has a limited time to reach these people for Christ. They are hungry for the truth, receptive to the gospel, and ready for the church to reach them for the kingdom harvest. As it is spoken of in Revelation 14:14, soon Jesus Christ will return, time will run out, and He will reap the harvest in the earth. After it's all said and done and we are with Christ, we will never have this amazing opportunity to make such a difference. Now is the time, now we must go, now they need to be reached before it's too late.

The 10/20 Window is a challenge for the church today. The church needs to accept the challenge and think more of the pioneer missions and consider the uncontacted people groups. Right here, in the 10/20 Window, we need to plant churches and the gospel needs to be preached.

Revelation 14:14-16

Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
