His Blood Shed For You
Through the blood of Jesus Christ there’s no more sickness, no more disease, no more pain in Jesus mighty name! See, pain is not from God, though God can use it for His glory. What is from God is love, joy, peace, kindness and everything that is good. But most important of all, through the blood there’s forgiveness and salvation. God loves us so much that He gave His Son for the whole world. And on the cross Jesus suffered and died for our sins. God did this for you and for me. Everything He did and how he shed His blood has a powerful purpose for us today.
Here are the 4 ways He shed His blood for you and for me.
1. JESUS WAS WHIPPED
Question: Why was He whipped?
Answer: So that we can have healing.
Isaiah 53:5 says that by His stripes we are healed.
They whipped Jesus using something like what’s called a Cat of 9 Tails. But the Romans did NOT call their whips a cat of nine tails. In fact, a real Cat O Nine Tails is like a toy in comparison. A Roman Whip had from as few as 3, to as many as 12 leather straps. All Roman whips had either glass, nails or jagged sheep bone embedded in various size lead tips on each strap.
Jesus was likely whipped 39 times and went through all this so that we can live in health and walk in our healing.
2. JESUS WORE A CROWN OF THORNS
Question: Why did Jesus wear a crown and why was it of thorns?
Answer: So that we can have the mind of Christ.
Genesis 3:18 it says thorns were part of the curse of God against man.
You can find thorns on the hill of Bethlehem. A twig about as thick as a pinkie, bent into a twisted "J" shape and covered with groupings of spiky thorns. They're the color of brown mustard and about an inch-and-a-half long. The points of the thorns are sharp on the fingertip, - not sharp like a needle's point, which would be easier to pierce into someone's skull, but more like the tip of a household steak knife. This is the plant they used as the crown of thorns for Jesus when he was crucified. The juice inside these thorns are very poisonous.
They twisted these poisonous thorns and placed it on His head causing His head to be covered with blood, taking the curse over our mind.
Jesus wore a crown to give us victory and it was of thorns take away the curse over the mind. We now have the victory over the battle of our minds. It says in 1 Corinthians 2:16 “we have the mind of Christ”. and now we have the freedom and can choose to accept Christ as Lord and Savior of our life (2 Timothy 2:21).
3. JESUS WAS NAILED TO A TREE
Question: Why was He nailed to a tree?
Answer: To take away our sins.
Colossians 2:14 Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
The nails they used were 5" for the hands and 7" for the feet. To crucify, they would nail spikes into the hands and feet to keep them on the cross. The hands and feet are always symbolic to us of the anointing of God in action in your life. Why did Jesus shed His blood in His hands and feet for us? It was so that we could walk with Him, work for Him, and daily live our life with Him. Don't let one day slip by without living your life for Christ. We're not perfect, but if and when we slip and fall, Jesus is always there to pick us up.
God nailed the list of all the things we had done wrong on the Cross. It’s done and it’s gone! IT IS FINISHED!! When we accept Jesus Christ into our life, we leave our old life and started brand new. You can now forget about the past. It's as if it never happened.
4. JESUS WAS PIERCED
Question: Why was He pieced?
Answer: To fulfill prophesy.
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones will be broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They will look on Him who they pierced.”
It’s amazing that He was spoken of many times hundreds of years before His time. God also has a great plan for you. God knows very well what you’re going through. He knows your struggles and your pains. And through the blood of Jesus Christ, you can overcome. God has you in His hand and He won't let you go. He will never leave you or forsake you and that's a promise you can count on!
JESUS DIED FOR YOU
Question: Why did Jesus go through all of this suffering and die on the cross and raise from the dead?
Answer: It was so that we can have eternal life.
Romans 10:9 says, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
The Bible says that in spite of our rebellion and rejection, God loves you. He loves you so much that He gave His Son to die for your sins. And when Christ died on that cross, He became guilty of lying, He became guilty of hatred, He became guilty of jealousy, He became guilty of the most filthiest, dirtiest sins. Christ took the hell that you and I deserve. Now God says, receive Him, believe Him.
Put your trust and confident in Him and I will forgive your sins and I will guarantee eternity in Heaven. It’s all yours and it’s all free. If you’ve never received Christ into your life. Now is the time.
